Chism brings a lot of positives to table for Magnolia, says Lee

PAUL Lee is excited to team up once again with Wayne Chism, this time at Magnolia.

“Of course, I’m very happy na nabigyan kami ulit ng chance na maging mag-teammates,” he said after Chism was brought in to rescue the Hotshots’ dimming chances in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Sitting at eighth place with a 4-5 card, Magnolia takes a gamble with Chism who will be the team’s fourth reinforcement in the conference.

But Lee feels Chism is worth the gamble.

Chism is no stranger to the style of play in the PBA, having stints in the past with Rain or Shine and NLEX.

The former Tennessee Volunteer also won a Best Import award back in the 2015 Commissioner’s Cup, where he led the Elasto Painters to the finals. Unfortunately, the team narrowly lost to the Ivan Johnson-led Talk ’N Text squad in seven tightly contested games.

Knowing what Chism can bring to the table, Lee is exuding confidence that after three reinforcements, Magnolia has finally found the right man.

“Tingin ko meron siyang mabibigay na mga pangngailangan ng team,” said the Tondo-born dribbler of his team’s new reinforcement.

“He’s a veteran import. He knows the PBA and he knows the type of physicality here, so yun pa lang, advantage na. Sa adjustment naman, there is still enough time para maka-adjust siya sa system ng Magnolia kasi matalinong player naman siya. So ako, kampante naman ako na makaka-adjust naman siya in time for our next game.”

Lee couldn’t be more excited for July 4 to come as he and Chism brace for a match their former coach Yeng Guiao and also-ran NLEX at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
