Rejuvenated Nico Elorde confident as Northport returns to action

DESPITE NorthPort going 0-4 to start the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup, Nico Elorde remains confident as league play resumes after the international break.

The Fiba break has given the Batang Pier ample time to recover from their injuries and foster team chemistry.

“Sobrang laki nitong pahinga para sa amin kasi mas nakapag-jell kami at nakakabalik na yung mga may injuries,” he said.

Elorde said that he’s back in tip-top shape after recovering from a bad back suffered in NorthPort’s first two games.

“Ok na ako. Naka-recover na naman din,” he said.

And the same could be said for his teammates, especially Sean Anthony who played his first game from a calf injury in the squad’s 104-98 defeat to Ginebra last September 5.

“At least, unti-unti na kaming nakakabalik lahat,” he said.

That’s why Elorde is optimistic with NorthPort’s chances moving forward as it eyes to end its four-game skid against Blackwater on Wednesday.

“Confident naman kami kasi si coach, positive naman parati,” he said.

“Ngayon, mas kumpleto kami at alam namin na pag naglaro kami, alam naman na kaya naming talunin kahit na sino as long as we start on defense.”
